Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper investigates condition of starting interaction between a person and a robot, which is not owned by the person. When mobile robots run in daily environment for human, people may encounter a mobile robot in public space. In such situation, people who are near a robot do not necessarily have intention to interact with the robot, while the robot is designed to try to interact. If people do not have intention to interact with the robot, interaction may not continue. We developed a robot trying to explain our laboratory, and let the robot run in a passage. We show the result of a questionnaire survey for people which passed in front of the robot.
