Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Sign Language is one of the communication means of the Hearing Disabled, using manual manipulations and non-manual signals (NMS) such as facial expressions, mouthing, posture and so on. Since Sign Language is a dialogue type language, an analysis of a dialogue between the two signers would lead to an analysis of structure of Sign Language and to a guideline of Sign Language teaching. We focused on the turn-taking of sign dialogue and attempted to set a model of conversational structure and turn-taking. In this report we studied the affection of the signs controlled under the certain conditions; one with no NMS on the face masked and the other with no manual movement. We analyzed the length of time of utterance, overlapping, nodding and turn-taking in order to research on the initiative and smoothness in sign dialogue. We observed that the cooperative strategic interfere occurred to the receptor who does not have the initiative and that either of the signer tended to take the initiative using the strategic interfere. In the MS-controlled signing, they could see the facial expressions and they tended to turn the sight away to take the initiative. Since the finger movement was prohibited, they used more mouthing and they felt hard to sign.
