| Abstract(in English) | Braille printer is an equipment to publish Braille documents. Most of the Braille printers are now connectable to personal computers. This suggests that digital documents in Japanese (sumi-ji) are potentially converted to those in Braille and printed out by the Braille printers. However, in general, Braille printers are so expensive that it is not easy to posses. In the present study, we first summarize system requirements in order to share Braille printers in local area networks. We then design and develop a Braille printer sharing system. The system is examined in a school for the blind, with paging attention especially to practical uses. |
