Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) There is a problem that users feel arm movement unnatural in present sign language animation. It is a factor of the problem not to consider the time structure of sign language. In the sign language, the speed of arms changes with contexts for same words and the time length of words differs. In this study, it became clear that factors, such as move distance of arms, a kind of movement, and dependency, have influenced. We modeled the time length of words by multiple linear regression analysis. We conducted evaluational experiments by sign language animation to verify the validity of the model. As a result, it is confirmed that the model proposed by this study is effective to improve the sign language animation.
