Abstract(in English) Wavelength-division-multiplexing(WDM) optical interconnects using a thin film waveguide with free-space-wave add/drop multiplexers was investigated for intra-board chip-to-chip broadband signal transmission. The add/drop function was confirmed experimentally so far, though its insertion loss was about -30 dB. Improved configuration was discussed and the fabrication process wes developed to reduce the insertion loss down to -19 dB and to extend the WDM width up to 20nm. 0.5 Gbit/s transmission through single channel was demonstrated.
