Broad-band operation of asymmetric Mach-Zehnder interferometer optical isolator using nonreciprocal phase shift

Abstract(in English) A waveguide optical isolator using nonreciprocal phase shift operates with the combination of nonreciprocal and reciprocal phase shift in a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. In this report, a broad-band design of the optical isolator realized by controlling the reciprocal phase shift with an asymmetric interferometer and compensating for the total wavelength dependence is proposed. The band width is broadened from about 25nm in the conventional design to more than 200nm in a proposed one.
