Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A Spindt-type FEA(Field Emitter Array) image sensor with a 25-μm-thick HARP (High-gain Avalanche Rushing amorphous Photoconductor) target which can be obtained a charge multiplication factor of about 600 was fabricated and tested as a step toward the development of ultra-highly sensitive compact image sensors for HDTV cameras. Experimental results showed that the prototype sensor had both ultra-high sensitivity corresponding to the multiplication factor of HARP target and low-lag originating in decreasing the storage capacitance of the HARP target.
