Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We are investigating the important physical factors for the reproduction of the high order artistic impression (high order sensation) in a display of images. Related to the faithful reproduction of image depth, some ohysical factors of CRT display have been discoverd. In this report, we are focusing on the effect of the halation. After exhaustive observations, we formed the hypothesis that halation on the surface of CRT might cause a serious degradation of image quality such as "image depth". The increase of luminance around a white rectangle caused by the halation have been measured and the result of assessment test shown that the halation deterioretes the reproduction of the high order sensation seriously.
