Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An OFDM-SDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing-Space Division Multiplexing) system is one of powerful candidates to realize high speed wireless communication. It is required in the system to separate each OFDM signal because each all OFDM signals are transmitted from several antennas over the same frequency band. In general, MLD (Maximum Likelihood Decision) is employed to separate OFDM signals on the subcarrier basis. However, the amount of MLD calculation becomes huge when the MLD is appkied to all subcarriers because all possible data patterns should be prepared at the receiving side. The paper proposes a method to reduce the amount of MLD calculation by choosing subcarriers applied MLD based on the instantaneous SIR. The performance obtained in the proposed method is evaluated by means of computer simulation and theory. The results show that the proposed scheme can reduce the amount of MLD calculation without the degradation compared with the conventional method which applies MLD to all subcarriers.
