Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Multi-hop connection scheme, in which other stations between base station and mobile station relay signal, is one of promising techniques for area coverage enhancement and transmit power reduction. For CDMA cellular system, this power reduction is expected to reduce multi-user interference and lead to system capacity enhancement. There is, however, another possibility that multi-hop connection may decrease system capacity due to interference from relay station. This paper first shows the results of basic study on the interference reduction effect, and then proposes a selection method of relay station so that the interference is effectively suppressed. We performed simulation on the model of multi-cell CDMA cellular, and show that multi-hop connection increases the system capacity.
