Abstract(in English) NTT has developed AWA (Advanced Wireless Access) system which provides quite high data rate of more than 20 Mbps. The AWA system has a function of QoS (Quality of Service) guarantee to flexibly support various kinds of applications and services as well as achieving high throughput performance on wireless links. As for the QoS classes, both best-effort type class for data communication and CBR (Constant Bit Rate) type class for streaming services such as internet movie delivery are available. This paper introduces the outline of its hardware configurations, and its remarkable technologies to provide various services with QoS requirements stably.
