Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An ESPAR (electronically steerable passive array radiator) antenna is composed of a fed element and parasitic elements loaded with variable reactors. Directivity can be changed by the variable reactors; however, then the input impedance also changes. A new technique is proposed to keep the impedance matching by also loading the fed element with a variable reactor. An additional control device or algorithm is not needed because the reactor loaded into the fed element can be controlled with reactors loaded into the parasitic elements. In-series and in-parallel circuit schemes are proposed to load a variable reactor into a fed element are proposed, and two corresponding equivalent weight vector formulations for a gradient of gain are also shown.
