Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) By recent rapid growth of network bandwidth, new problem has arose that processing speed is bottlenecked by main processor. To solve this problem, special processors, called network processor, are made that assist network processing. Most of network processors can execute multiple threads concurrently to improve performance. However, it is not clear what multithreaded architecture is suitable for network processing. In this research, by means of simulation; we investigate what architecture is suitable for network processor on NIC when it performs protocol processing of up to layer four.
