Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation Algorithm for GE-PON

Abstract(in English) The demand for broadband access like ADSL and FTTH has recently been increasing, and a further speed-up and lower-cost access systems are desired. GE-PON(Gigabit Ethernet PON) is expected as a next-generation high speed, low cost access system, and is being standardized by IEEE802.3ah task force. To provide a shared access service of which peak speed is from 100M to 1Gbps, upstream Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation (DBA) function should be required. In this paper, we propose a DBA algorithm which realizes low delay, high bandwidth efficiency, and high TCP throughput, and show the simulation results to evaluate it.
