Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Peer-to-peer (P2P) is one of the most promising candidates for the next-generation network services, considering the current communication situations, where high-performance PCs and broad-band access services can be used economically. In P2P communication, a peer equally exchanges contents or jobs with each other. This point is different from current client-server model, and new types of network services are expected to be established. However, when actual P2P services are provided, several requirements, such as fault-tolerance, effective management for massive users, authentication and billing, must be solved. This paper proposes solutions for them by introducing a concept of a manager (Peer Manager) that controls fault processing actions, dynamic modification of the network architecture. Our proposed method can lead to economical provision of various P2P services.
