Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) High-precision image registration is of fundamental importance in various computer vision and remote sensing algorithms. The authors have investigated high-precision image registration techniques based on phase-only correlation (POC), which make possible to detect image translation and rotation with sub-pixel accuracy and can be applied to various different target objects without modifying the basic algorithm. This paper presents the principle of high-precision image registration using POC for detecting image translation and rotation. Performance evaluation through basic experiments shows that the POC-based registration algorithm can detect image translation in about 1/100-pixel accuracy and image rotation in about 1/30-degree accuracy.
