Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Face is the most affective interface media in human communication processes. And the digital face image taken by human is basically continuous to NIGAOE (facial caricature drawn by human) from the functional view point of the communication media. In this paper we discuss on this intrinsic paradigm based on PICASSO system and COOPER robot (exhibited at EXPO2005) for computer generation of facial caricature. We also investigate this paradigm based on the novel discussion on the facial media of the famous animation director Isao Takahata. Furthermore a couple of the technical problems underling in PICASSO and COOPER would be investigated and a few applications of the iris recognition are introduced to demonstrate a possibility to enforce the quality of the face for the communication process on the net.
