Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes S-band phase shifter by using double balanced mixer(DBM). The phase shifter was developed as a component of a S-band active phased array antenna for the test vehicle which is prepared for the mobile satellite communications experiments using the Engineering Test Satellite VIII(ETS-VIII). Commercial QPSK modulator was used as the DBM phase shifter. Maximum amplitude variance from mean amplitude was 0.7dB, and maximum phase variance from the input phase value was 1.7°, when the input phase value was rotated from 0° to 360°. The amplitude was linearly operated from 0dB(at an operating voltage of 7.5V) to-7dB(3.5V). These facts indicated that this phase shifter could precisely control both the phase and the amplitude.
