Abstract(in English) A design methodology of transmission line using Raman/EDF hybrid amplifier repeater is proposed to improve optical signal to noise ratio. This also makes it possible to effectively mitigate nonlinear effect. We have confirmed these effects using two types of 20 Gbit/s 64 channels transmission experiments; i.e., over 4,200km with 100km repeater spacing and over 6,400km with 75km one.
