Abstract(in English) Due to the rapid increase in P2P traffic in the past several years, the phenomenon that a small minority of flows, called elephant flows, occupies great majority of whole link bandwidth has been frequently observed, and which lower quality of service (QoS) of majority of other users. We therefore develop an active queue management (AQM) technique that controls congestion and provides fairness bandwidth among users by controlling a minority of elephant flows in real-time. In this paper, we propose an AQM algorithm to control elephant flows and also report effectiveness of the algorithm through simulation results.
