Abstract(in English) All-optical modulation format conversion is expected to remove costly and power-wasteful O/E/O converters in the edge nodes, which connect inhomogeneous networks with using different modulation formats. In this paper, we propose a novel all-optical modulation format conversion from NRZ-OOK to RZ-BPSK using SOA-MZI wavelength converter. The performance of the proposed converter is numerically investigated and error-free operation at a bit-rate of 10.7 Gb/s is experimentally demonstrated.
