Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This article describes propagation properties of hybrid modes in a Bragg fiber whose guiding principle is based on the Bragg diffraction due to the periodical cladding structure. Discussions are made on properties of propagation constant, dispersion relation, and electromagnetic fields for hybrid modes using an asymptotic expansion method. It is revealed that the HE_<11> mode is the lowest order mode and the TM_<01> mode is the first higher-order mode in the Bragg fiber. Properties of electromagnetic fields under the quarter-wave stack condition correspond to those of the circular metallic waveguide. |
