Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to analyze wavelength characteristics on reflected powers of dominant guided wave and radiation field in sinusoidal relief type 3D periodic optical waveguides using Fourier series expansion method, approximating the sinusoidal shape by multi-layered thin rectangular plates along the direction of propagation, the convergency behavior of the solutions are investigated when the numbers of the layers and the expansion terms are increased. As conclusions, it is confirmed that the sinusoidal surface periodic waveguide can be approximated by comparably smaller number of layers and the solutions for several different amplitudes of the sinusoidal relief are investigated in comparison with the case of rectangular teeth relief, and their behaviors are made clear.
