Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a space parallel transmission/intensity distribution modulation for infrared wireless communication systems. In the proposed system, to achieve the higher data rate than 1 Gbit/s-the data rate of directed line-of-sight (LOS) infrared wireless communication systems, directional light sources spatially and parallel transmit signals modulated by on off keying (OOK), and photo detectors detect data sequences from super-imposed received lights by maximum-likelihood (ML) because the intensity distribution of the received optical power is changed according to the combination of on/off light sources. Computer simulation confirms that the proposed system can achieve 4 Gbit/s in 4 light sources and 9 photo detectors usage case. Moreover, we confirm that the proposed system can shorten the distance between light sources by less than a half of the minimum distance of no mutual interference, thereby we can make the size of both transmitter and receiver small.
