Abstract(in English) We study the feasibility of Radio-over-Fiber (RoF) transmission with a combination of 850nm VCSEL and 1.3μm SMF. In the transmission, plural fiber modes cause modal noise and distortion which seriously degrade transmission performances. We propose the novel low-frequency superposition technique for improvement of the performances. Using the technique, we demonstrate significant suppression of the modal noise and distortion. Furthermore, the RoF transmission of IEEE802.11g signal is demonstrated with a 1km-long SMF, and we clarify the substantial impact of the technique for the improvement of the RoF transmission performances.
