Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We experimentally demonstrate the Radio over Fiber transmission of BPSK signal around 100Mbps with carrier frequency of 10.5GHz, and measured the bit error rate varying the optical transmission power. The transmission over 10km fiber shows a larger power penalty than does the 15km fiber transmission, when the EDFA output power is either 0dBm or 5dBm. A waveform distortion has been observed after the transmission, though the relation between the distortion and the penalty has not yet been identified. Simulating an actual communication system, we have developed a BPSK receiver that employs a 10.5GHz carrier recovery circuit. The performance of this receiver is currently limited by the signal power level necessary for the carrier recovery circuit.
