Abstract(in English) | Optoelectronic active devices (laser diode (LD), photodiode (PD), avalanche photodiode (APD), optical modulator, and wavelength-tunable devices) presented at the ECOC2005 conference are described. Improved performance of LDs and APDs for 10-Gbps transmission and 40-Gbps optical modulators, and high-optical-output wavelength-tunable LDs were reported. Although there were several reports on modulation characteristics of quantum-dot (QD) LDs, improvement of relaxation frequency and optimization has been left for future study. Several optoelectronic integrated devices for wavelength conversion or optical packet switching were reported. |
