Abstract(in English) There is an increasing demand for TV programming including metadata for describing its content. An efficient production method is needed because the present methods involve a lot of work. We developed a metadata production system to create and edit segment metadata of the semantic level by combining metadata extraction technologies. This system is a composition of functional modules for production, extraction, accumulation, editing, and utilization of metadata. This composition gives extensibility to the system and the ability to adjust it to the peculiar workflow of the broadcasting station. Moreover, insufficient metadata obtained from one kind of information can be complemented by combining metadata gathered from the various extraction modules. This paper describes the framework for metadata production and describes the experimental metadata production system.
