Broadcasting and Cognitive Radio

Abstract(in English) The cognitive radio technology has a high potentiality to provide new services with co-existing conventional radio systems. It provides new function, which perceive the frequency band not used momentary for the communication terminal, and help using an vacant channel of each region that changes every time. On the other hand, broadcasting is a continuous transmission system. In this report, when the relation between broadcasting and the cognitive radio are investigated, technical conditions for required field strength and the interference protection ratio for the television broadcasting with the possibility of receiving interference are explained. In addition, because the cognitive radio has a deep relationship with software radio technology, one segment mobile terrestrial digital (ONESEG) broadcasting receiver, Real Zero method AM radio receiver and three medias software receiver for ITS as a research and development situation of a software radio technology in the broadcasting field are introduced.
