Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) PC cluster has been applied on the fields of Scientific and Engineering Calculations. In this study, we are developing a Reconfigurable Cluster Computing, which has on-board FPGAs in PC cluster. In the past, we evaluated FPGA availability on PC cluster by using BLAST, executing a part of the process on the hardware. The results show that performance improvement is from 70 times to 80 times by using FPGA and communication latency is reduced by migrating from cluster hierarchy to FPGA hierarchy. This paper presents an original on-board FPGA board based on the results.
