Abstract(in English) Carbon nanotubes (CNTs), especially single-walled nanotubes (SWNTs) have been attracted much attention for their ultra-fast response in optical device applications research fields. So far, CNTs were sprayed or directly synthesized onto quarts substrates and the fiber ends or included into polymer nano-composits. However, these structures are not suitable for realizing compact and integrated devices. We propose and demonstrate, for the first time, a waveguide-type CNT device. for the first step of waveguide-type CNT devices, we realized waveguide-type saturable absorber based on CNTs by spraying CNTs onto planar waveguide.
