Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) There is a necessity for treating not only the technology that processes information as a mere sign but also the content as knowledge the information society's in recent years developing. The Ontology research that describes the object world under such a background is actively done. Onotlogy offers information that becomes a background when the knowledge base is constructed. It is thought that it contributes to sharing and the circulation of knowledge. However, neither a basic theory nor the methodology of Ontology have been established. Therefore, the construction method is hoped for. The folklore research is made electronic and it is aiming at the information sending in Kanagawa University 21st Century COE Program "Systematization of Nonwritten Clutural Materials for the Study of Human Societies". It proposes String ontology that specifies background information that has been treated tacit in the Ontology research of the past in this text.
