A Broadband Waveguide Orthomode Transducer with a Double Septum

Abstract(in English) In orthogonal dual-polarized antenna feed systems, orthomode transducers (OMTs) are used to separate the orthogonal signals excited at the common port. This report presents a waveguide orthomode transducer with a double septum,which is suitable for realizing broadband and high performances. A C-band OMT has been designed by numerical analysis performed using finite element methods, and the results of analysis have verified the high efficiency of the presented OMT. A fabricated C-band OMT has realized excellent performances over broad frequency range without tuning elements.
