Abstract(in English) Mitsui have developed Hybrid anti personal mine detector combining 1) Step frequency electro-magnetic wave ground penetrating radar (GPR) having maximum 4GHz wave frequency and 2) Active differential type metal detector (MD). Generally, anti personal plastic mine tends to be smaller size and also it's metal portion (triggering device) is relatively small. To avoid any failure of detection, ideal system combining GPR with high resolution and MD capable to detect small amount of metal is necessary. Furthermore, it is most important to obtain each result of GPR/MD simultaneously for assurance of the position of the mine. Then, we have realized the combined sensor of GPR and MD in one unit having same concentricity and succeeded to real time scan and display of each result in one same screen. In this paper, method of mechanical combination of RADAR and MD, and signal processing method used in the system will be explained.
