Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As one of key technologies to board level optical interconnection of board-to-board and chip-to-chip, we have studied on "90-degree optical path change" using an optical fiber with 45-degree micro mirror. Optical coupling experiment and ray trace simulation between a vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) and an optical fiber with 45-degree micro mirror were performed. We also examined the lens effect of the fiber side compared with the waveguide having a rectangular cross-section.
