Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Reflectivity modulating spatial optical communication has been researched using liquid crystal light shutter for an adequate human-supporting information service environment. Conventional polymer dispersed liquid crystal devices had a subject of its response speed. In this paper, characteristics of a ferroelectric liquid crystal light shutter device are reported to improve its communicating data rate. A technique for higher data rate using a high-speed vision VLSI chip is also mentioned.
