Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a novel technique to measure the Raman gain characteristics in concatenated single-mode optical fibers individually and simultaneously. In this paper, a measurement principle to obtain the longitudinal distribution of the Raman gain efficiency in concatenated optical fibers was presented. Based on this principle, Experiments for various types of fiber, and for 1.3μm zero-dispersion single-mode optical fiber cables which installed in the field were carried out, and we confirmed that the Raman gain efficiency distribution could be measured easily and accurately.
