| 抄録(和) | 知覚過程において推定対象が時間的に変動する動的性質であっても, 複数の感覚の情報を統合することによって単一の感覚だけで推定するよりも精度の高い推定を行うことが可能である[1][2][3]が, 動的な対象を統合する際の時間特性は不明である.本研究では視覚と触覚により物体の変形量を推定する課題を行い, 感覚間に物理的な時間遅延を導入することで異種感覚統合過程の時間特性を検討した.その結果, 視覚と触覚の両方の感覚を効率的な利用できるのは, 入力の時間差が小さい時のみであることが示唆された.また両感覚の情報が同時に入力されるよりも視覚情報と触覚情報の入力に時間的なずれがある時の方が推定精度が高く, このずれの最適な大きさは物体の変形する速度に依存して変化することが示唆された. |
| 抄録(英) | We can efficiently integrate multiple sensory information, even in dynamic situation where the state of external world changes. However, the temporal characteristic of multi-modal integration is still unclear. In the present study, we conducted the experiment where participants estimate the amount of deformation of an object through vision and haptics. To investigate the temporal characteristics of visual and haptic integration, we introduced temporal perturbation between senses. As a result, the time window of visual and haptic integration was relatively short. In addition, when there was a small temporal inconsistency between visual and haptic input, the estimation became most precise and the amount of this inconsistency changed depending on the characteristic of external dynamics. |
