Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We purposed to create the algorithm that can distinguish winter thunderclouds form non-thunderclouds by Meteorological Radar Observation. We focused on three parameters (maximum reflectivity, vertical integrated reflectivity, height of the echo top) , fixed thresholds of these. At last we attempted to combine each parameter while preserved POD(probability of detection) and controlled FAR(false alarm rate), produced the nowcasting algorithm.
