Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Dye-sensitized nanoparticle-ZnO solar cells using Eosin-Y as organic dye were fabricated under various conditions, such as sintering temperature, film thickness and distance between electrodes. The detailed electrical characteristics of the solar cell structure have been investigated by irradiation of Xe lamp (100 mW/cm^2). The short circuit current (Isc) was increased with increasing the thickness of ZnO film, implying that a large amount of the organic dye was combined as the thickness of ZnO film was increased. In these experiments, larger conversion efficiency was obtained in the following conditions (sintering temperature of ZnO film; 400℃, film thickness; 40μm, distance between electrodes; 50μm). Now the conversion efficiency of solar cell is 2.4%. We tried to deduce some device parameters from the I-V characteristics in dark condition. The experimental data can be fitted using the thermionic emission model. The estimated barrier height and the ideal factor are 0.52eV and 2.1, respectively.
