Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have developed a multi-lingual Web-Based E-mail client system by JavaServlet technologies. The system, which is named "Servlet WebMailer", can handle character sets of various languages. When a user browses a mail message using the system, the system recognizes a character set of the message, at first. The system converts the message into Unicode, and displays the message. When a user composes a new message, the user can determine a character set to write the message. The system recognizes the character set, the system converts the message from Unicode to an appropriate character set. We release this system as free software.
