Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We are studying the relation of prosody in speech and educational effects of audio response in ITS. Prosody in speech has four factors. They are volume, pitch, speed and pause. In this paper, we have focused on two factors, volume and pitch, and examined the boundary of prosody in which a person can sense the emphasized phrase in speech made by voice sysnthesis system. We also analyzed differences in prosody between normal human speeches and emphasized ones. We have found from the former experiment that a person senses the emphasis from 120% to 140% in volume or from 110% to 120% in pitch. From the latter experiment, we have found that a person not only enhances the volume by 20%-30% for emphasis, but also inserts a pause, increases a pitch at the end of phrase and continues a high Ditch.
