Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, improvements of computers' performance and network technique have brought an infrastructure to realize cyber space. Multi-user networked virtual environment has been studied by the graphics and networking communities for some time, and there is a natural desire to enlarge multi-user virtual environments in spatial extent, in terms of objects and users. The development of multi-user networked virtual worlds has become a major area of interest in the computer and communications fields. To collaborate in a 3D virtual environment, update messages corresponding to the change in the state of a shared object must be communicated among users, so to recover from network impairments are important. The purpose of this paper is to identify the main methods to recover and describe the proper for networked virtual environments.
