| Abstract(in English) | Comparing the Exemption for Special Purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998 in UK with proposed Personal data protection law in Japan, we find many differences in many points such as application of the basic principles, scope of the requirements of the journalism and practise of the procedure. When we find out such differences in details, such differences are very informative and suggestive for the discussion of data protection system in Japan. Especially, the establishment of the Codes of Practise and independent bodies are necessary for the journalism to insist the wide range of exemption. |
