Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Pupil Contour Detection is a significant technology for human interface system. Recently image processing technology in amusement area has been expected. Automatic synthesis of virtual makeup face image will be popular in future. To detect facial features exactly is an important technology for such an application. We propose a new precise pupil contour detection method. It is based on the energy minimization. The energy consists of the edge energy and pattern energy. We extend the method, which is limited to circle shape previously, to ellipse shape. The example of an application for a virtual makeup system is also shown.
