Abstract(in English) By the aid of vibration simulation of finite element method, we have found two ways to shift and control the spurious responses occurring in piezoelectric transformers using primary planar expansion mode. As a result, it becomes possible to design a mini-sized and high step-ratio piezoelectric transformer of this mode, which has not ever been put into practical use so far, regardless of its high coupling coefficient. The novel piezoelectric transformer, typically 0.6mm in thickness and about 10×10 mm in area with a driving frequency of around 200kHz, gives rise to a step-ratio of around 25 and maximum output of 1.5W under the load of 100kΩ. By adopting the latest IC chip designed for push-pull driving, a small-sized and low cost and high performance piezoelectric inverter integrated with various protect functions was realized.
