| 抄録(和) | 音声読み上げ機能つき数式エディターに改良を加えるとともに, 新たに英語版開発を行った。"ChattyInfty"というこのソフトウェアを利用すれば, 日本・英語圏の視覚障害者は数式を含む科学情報を音声で読めるだけでなく, それを作成・編集できる。ChattyInftyの特色は, 我々の開発した数式OCRソフトウェア"InftyReader"の認識結果を利用可能なことである。実際, 我々はChattyInftyとInftyReaderを組み合わせて, 視覚障害者が自立的に墨字科学文書にアクセスできるシステムを開発した。さらに触覚ディスプレーなどを利用し, 晴眼者の手助けなしに文字や数式の誤認識を視覚障害者自身で修正できる環境を実現した。 |
| 抄録(英) | In parallel with improving our math-expression editor with a function of speech output, we have recently developed its English version. Using this software named "ChattyInfty, " visually disabled persons in Japan or English-speaking countries can not only read scientific information including math expressions but also write or edit them with speech output. One of remarkable features of ChattyInfty is its availability for recognition results by math OCR system named "InftyReader" that we also developed. Actually, combining them, we construct a system to allow visually disabled persons to access scientific documents in print by themselves. Furthermore, using a tactile display or a Braille embosser, we realize an environment in which visually disabled persons can correct recognition errors without any help by sighted people. |
