Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As wireless communication is developing, new and existing wireless communication systems have to coexist. New systems need to be adopted in such a way that they do not interfere with existing systems. Wireless LAN and Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless communication systems, need to coexist in common frequency spectrum. In our previous work, we proposed a method to avoid interference from UWB emissions by controlling the transmission power of the UWB terminals using the concept of Cognitive Radio. As a result, Wireless LAN and UWBs' throughputs were maximized. However, the interference from UWB emissions has been considered only in the base station of Wireless LAN. In this paper, we take inti consideration the effects in the terminals as well as in the base station of Wireless LAN. For this purpose, by calculating the optimal values of the transmission power of each UWB terminal and controlling the transmission power, we maximize Wireless LAN's throughput. Computer simulations let us calculate the Wireless LAN's throughput and show the effectiveness of the optimization.
