Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) IEICE Software Radio Technical Group (SR-TG) has promoted research and development of software defined or reconfigurable radio (SDR) by organizing various activities such as organizing regular domestic technical conferences and international symposia, publishing series of special issues on SDR in the IEICE transactions etc with academia and industry since December 1998. As the chairperson of the SR-TG for these six years, I appreciate all active members, supporters and sponsors for their extraordinary contribution. It is my great pleasure for me to inform that the SR-TG becomes a permanent technical group in communication society of the IEICE since May 2005. In this memorial symposium, I would like to overview progress in a wide variety of SDR technologies with the SR-TG and other organizations. I believe SDR technologies will diverge into much broad fields such as end-to-end reconfigurability (E2R) in a mobile network and more various software reconfigurable systems and networks.
