Abstract(in English) | This report describes a configuration and performances of a real-time baseband simulator that aims to efficiently verify signal processing modules for the software defined radio and that can realize 2×2 MIMO-OFDM transmission following the wireless LAN (WLAN) standards. The simulator for MIMO-OFDM implements some signal processing modules into a board that consists of six FPGAs with high capacity, ADC, and DAC with 14-bit and sampling rate more than 100MHz. The simulator can measure the transmission performances in real time, because the signal processing modules include a fading simulator and a noise generator in addition to both transmitter and receiver modules. It is demonstrated that the measured performances are the same as results of computer simulation with floating-point processing. In addition, the signal processing modules can work up to 6 times bandwidth as wide as WLAN, and can achieve the bit-rate of 144Mbps with QPSK and the coding rate of 1/2. Since the simulator can output time-domain signals and spectrums as internal signals from DAC, this report shows the observed data, and clarifies that the simulator is useful as a visual debug tool. Furthermore, the subcarrier phase hopping scheme for the space division multiplexing is implemented as a technique which can improve the transmission performance of MIMO-OFDM, and it is shown that the scheme can sufficiently improve the effect of the frequency diversity due to a channel code without requiring any large-scale circuit. |
